1:Be Happy!“The days that make us happy make us wise.”----John Masefield when I first read this line by England’s Poet Laureate, it startled me. What did Masefield mean? Without thinking about it much, I had always assumed that the opposite was true. But his sober assurance was arresting. I could not forget it. Finally, I seemed to grasp his meaning and realized that here was a profound observation. The wisdom that happiness makes possible lies in clear perception, not fogged by anxiety nor dimmed by despair and boredom, and without the blind spots caused by fear. Active happiness---not mere satisfaction or contentment ---often comes suddenly, like an April shower or the unfolding of a bud. Then you discover what kind of wisdom has accompanied it. The grass is greener; bird songs are sweeter; the shortcomings of your friends are more understandable and more forgivable. Happiness is like a pair of eyeglasses correcting your spiritual vision. Nor are the insights of happiness limited to what is near around you. Unhappy, with your thoughts turned in upon your emotional woes, your vision is cut short as though by a wall. Happy, the wall crumbles. The long vista is there for the seeing. The ground at your feet, the world about you----people, thoughts, emotions, pressures---are now fitted into the larger scene. Everything assumes a fairer proportion. And here is the beginning of wisdom. 2:Facing the Enemies WithinWe are not born with courage, but neither are we born with fear. Maybe some of our fears are brought on by your own experiences, by what someone has told you, by what you’ve read in the papers. Some fears are valid, like walking alone in a bad part of town at two o’clock in the morning. But once you learn to avoid that situation, you won’t need to live in fear of it. Fears, even the most basic ones, can totally destroy our ambitions. Fear can destroy fortunes. Fear can destroy relationships. Fear, if left unchecked, can destroy our lives. Fear is one of the many enemies lurking inside us. Let me tell you about five of the other enemies we face from within. The first enemy that you’ve got to destroy before it destroys you is indifference. What a tragic disease this is! “Ho-hum, let it slide. I’ll just drift along.” Here’s one problem with drifting: you can’t drift your way to the to of the mountain. The second enemy we face is indecision. Indecision is the thief of opportunity and enterprise. It will steal your chances for a better future. Take a sword to this enemy. The third enemy inside is doubt. Sure, there’s room for healthy skepticism. You can’t believe everything. But you also can’t let doubt take over. Many people doubt the past, doubt the future, doubt each other, doubt the government, doubt the possibilities nad doubt the opportunities. Worse of all, they doubt themselves. I’m telling you, doubt will destroy your life and your chances of success. It will empty both your bank account and your heart. Doubt is an enemy. Go after it. Get rid of it. The fourth enemy within is worry. We’ve all got to worry some. Just don’t let conquer you. Instead, let it alarm you. Worry can be useful. If you step off the curb in New York City and a taxi is coming, you’ve got to worry. But you can’t let worry loose like a mad dog that drives you into a small corner. Here’s what you’ve got to do with your worries: drive them into a small corner. Whatever is out to get you, you’ve got to get it. Whatever is pushing on you, you’ve got to push back. The fifth interior enemy is overcaution. It is the timid approach to life. Timidity is not a virtue; it’s an illness. If you let it go, it’ll conquer you. Timid people don’t get promoted. They don’t advance and grow and become powerful in the marketplace. You’ve got to avoid overcaution. Do battle with the enemy. Do battle with your fears. Build your courage to fight what’s holding ou back, what’s keeping you from your goals and dreams. Be courageous in your life and in your pursuit of the things you want and the person you want to become.

Success is on the other side of failuresEverybody wants success. Some people aim for it; others just talk about it. We all know what it looks like when someone else has it. Often times it just seems like something too far out of reach. The truth to success is closer than you think. It's just on the other side you have to want it enough, and be willing enough to get it. Fear is your biggest obstacle fear of failure, fear of the judgment of others; fear of actually succeeding. It will trip you up every time. It will cause you to make decisions that may seem "right" at the time, but they're preventing you from actually getting over that wall. Success has no excuses. You either get it or you don't. The minute you find a reason not to take another step towards success is the moment you stop being successful. In the symphony of success, excuses are just noise. On the other side of obstacles Everyone faces changes; different ones at different times. We all handle the same challenges differently; we all have different results. It's how you handle each one and what you do with the results that count. An obstacle is something you either find a way around or allow to stop you. Remember, you've got to get passed obstacles in order to succeed. On the other side of failures Not everything works; even if it works for other people, the same thing just doesn't work for us. So what? Failure can either become an obstacle and an excuse or it can become your teacher in what not to do. It takes effort, commitment and follow-through They call it aladder of success for a reason... because you need to climb it in order to get somewhere. It's not an escalator. You just don't stand there and let it do the work for you. You have to do the work yourself. Sometimes it will be easy; other times you'll be carrying a heavy load on your shoulders. The ladder remains the same. Success still waits on the other side. It's going to take determination and persistence on your part to get up and over that wall. Which side do you want to be on? Goals Only Work When You DoPeople often make resolutions at the beginning of the New Year. They work hard at them for a few weeks, maybe even a few months, and then forget about them. The next year, they make the same New Year’s resolutions. Why? They may be making goals that are too unrealistic1. That is not to say that they are not worthy goals. They need to be broken into smaller, more specific, and more attainable pieces. You probably know the joke. How do you eat an elephant? One spoonful at a time. It is the same with goals. Make spoon-size goals and achieve them easily. When you’ve mastered this, get a bigger spoon! You may have filled your timetable with so many things that there is little room for your goals to grow. duanwenw.comBe careful about how you use your time and what you focus on. Success often comes when you know what to leave out, rather than what to include in your life. Notice, too, how much time you spend on small things. Have you ever just "had" to clean your office before you could begin your project? Then you know how this works! Goal setting is like the pig and the chicken who went out for a walk in the town. The chicken became excited when she saw a sign that said "Pork & Eggs, $2.99". She said to the pig, "We’ve got double billing again." The pig said, "For you, it’s all in a day’s work. For me, it’s total commitment2."Goal setting is all in a day’s work. Goal achievement is total commitment. Gifts That You Give YourselfAre you burdened by your conesquences, or is your life blessed by the consequences you create? That depends entirely on the choices you make. It may seem at times that the consequences are there to punish you. Actually, they are there as a manifestation of your thoughts, your actions and your attitude. You cannot change the consequences that flow from specific actions. However, you can indeed change the actions you choose to take, and, by so doing, you can decide what consequences you create. Consequences are gifts that you give to yourself, created by the choices you make. If you don’t like the consequences you have been getting, that is a clear message that you are sending yourself. Positive and meaningful thoughts and actions bring desirable conesquences. As reliably as day follows night, the way you live creates the life you experience. Take control of your consequences by putting positive intention into your choices. Make use of the power you have, and you can go wherever you choose.

If you want success in business or in life, you need to start living your life based on your dreams, not your circumstances. The most successful people in the world know that the place in life you have right now isn’t a place you need to stay. Before becoming a box office superstar, Jim Carrey was homeless and lived in his car. He now is one of the most famous actors in Hollywood. J.K. Rowling, the author of the successful Harry Potter series, was divorced, unemployed and living on welfare before she published her first book. It’s now said that she has more money than the queen of England. So what does all this have to do with you? Both the two people come from unpleasant circumstances. duanwenw.com Their lives were so hard that it would have been extremely easy for them to give up their dreams. But your circumstances don’t make you who you are, and no situation lasts forever. If you want success, you need to start living and thinking as if you were successful. That doesn’t mean spending money you don’t have, but it does mean walking with your head up and presenting yourself as a positive, motivated and successful person. Nobody wants to be in business with a negative person with no confidence. duanwenw.com When you start living the life you want instead of the life you are accepting, everything starts changing for the better. Success is something anyone can have. Start living as if you’re going to be one of the successful people, and soon you will be! As an introduction to a blog says, life can be poor and life can be lonely, but what we can never lose is the beating heart of life itself. Everyone is busy these days, driven to get somewhere —but do they know where? Something important falls by the wayside as they rush, and then they begin to complain about a boring and mechanical* life with no vitality or newness, but we are the producers of our own lives. If our lives are poor or lonely, we’ve made them so ourselves, and can change them. Figure out what you’re really interested in doing, and do it. Call your friends and family every day; go out for walks; go climbing; do some sports. duanwenw.com Eat in clean and quiet restaurants with your best friends, or go to cafes with them to chat whenever you’re in the mood. Arrange your room in the way that pleases you, write down your feelings and experiences, or buy a vase and put some flowers in it. Spend an afternoon reading your favorite magazines, without doing anything else. Of course, there is a lot to do, but we shouldn’t let our busyness get the better of us. We should try to live for ourselves, like human beings, not like machines. 3 It doesn’t interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart’s longing1.It doesn’t interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for your dreams and for the adventure of being alive. I want to know if you can sit down with pain without moving to hide it. I want to know if you can be with joy, if you can dance with wildness, and if you can let happiness fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes. duanwenw.com Are you someone who doesn’t care about being careful, being realistic or remembering the limitations of being a human? It doesn’t interest me if the story you’re telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself and if you can bear the blame of betrayal2 and not betray your own soul. I want to know if you can be faithful, and therefore trustworthy.I want to know if you can see beauty on the ugliest of days. I want to know if you can live with failure and still stand on the edge of a lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, "Yes!" It doesn’t interest me where you have studied. I want to know what sustains you from the inside when all else fails. I want to know if you can be alone with yourself, and if you truly like the company you keep in your emptiest moments.

(The Wind And The Sun) One day the wind said to the sun, “Look at that man walking along the road. I can get his cloak off more quickly than you can.”“We will see about that,” said the sun. “I will let you try first.”So the wind tried to make the man take off his cloak. He blew and blew, but the man only pulled his cloak more closely around himself.“I give up,” said the wind at last. “I cannot get his cloak off.” Then the sun tried. He shone as hard as he could. The man soon became hot and took off his cloak.(有一天风跟太阳说: “看看那个沿着路上走的人.

Once upon a time, a child was ready to be born. So he asked God, "How am I going to live there? I am so small and helpless." God answered, "Among many angels, I chose one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you." The child asked, "Here I am in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile. That's enough for me to be happy." God answered, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. You will feel your angel's love and be happy." The child asked, "How will I learn? I don't know the language that human beings speak." God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweetest words you will ever hear. With much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to live." The child asked, "What am I going to do when I want to talk to you?" God smiled, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray." The child asked, "Who will protect me?" God said, "Your angel will protect you even if it means risking her own life." At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from the earth could already be heard, and the child in a hurry asked softly, "Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my angel's name." "Your angel's name is of no importance. You will simply call your angel 'Mom'.
